PURPOSE: Provided is a method for making a nano-structured material having a large surface area, which is applicable to a high functional catalyst, a magnetic storage medium, a surface coating material and an optical sensor, through a chemical means with ease at a low cost. CONSTITUTION: The method for making a nano-structured material is characterized in that a nano-porous alumina obtained from the cathode oxidation of aluminum or an aluminum having a nano-pattern is used as a replication master. The nano-structured material is a polymer, a metal, a mono-structured thin film or a composite film. Particularly, the replication master is obtained from the nano-patterned aluminum which is formed by cathode-oxidizing aluminum and removing the porous alumina film formed on the surface, or from the nano-porous alumina film having controlled nano-pores.
