This invention relates to an improved double metal cyanation catalyst. Substantially amorphous catalysts of this invention have higher activity than conventional DMC catalysts for epoxide polymerization with high crystalline components. Polyol products made with these catalysts are usually transparent and have a very low degree of unsaturation and little low molecular weight polyol impurities are detected. This invention also includes a process for producing an improved DMC catalyst that closely combines the reactants.
