PURPOSE: A gingival enlargement inhibiting composition containing retinol is provided, thereby normalizing the modification of gingival fibroblast caused by diphenylhydantoin, nifedipine or cyclosporin, and consequently inhibiting gingival enlargement. CONSTITUTION: A gingival enlargement inhibiting composition contains retinol an active ingredient, wherein retinol is contained in the amount of 0.01 to 50 wt.%; the gingival enlargement inhibiting composition is formulated into tablet, suspension, syrup, capsule, injection or ointment.
