Method of producing excellent high-strength steel wire for wire rod and fresh Castle

PURPOSE: High strength steel excellent in wire drawing workability and a method for manufacturing wire rod using the same are provided. CONSTITUTION: High strength steel contains 0.85-0.95wt% of C; 0.4-1.2wt% of Si; 0.4-0.7wt% of Mn; 0.2-0.4wt% of Cr; 0.04-0.10wt% of Vd; 0.01-0.05wt% of Ti; less than 0.02wt% of P; less than 0.02wt% of S; and the balance substantially Fe and inevitable impurities. The method comprises following steps of hot rolling the wire rod manufactured with steel constituted of the composite ion in the temperature range of 900-1050°C and continuous control cooling at 5-12°C/sec of mean cooling rate from a cooling initiation temperature of 850-950°C to 500°C.
