PURPOSE: A reactor for reclamation of effluent from sewage treatment facility by irradiation combined with TiO2 is provided to decrease sludge discharge with no use of iron which is normally used as a catalyst to decompose nonbiodegradable organics, and generates much sludge of iron hydroxide type. The system can be simplified by using gamma ray irradiator. CONSTITUTION: The reactor comprises an irradiation vessel(1) that is vertically comparted in zig zag form for the water to flow and has a gamma ray irradiator, in which a bed packed with titanium medium is installed at the middle part to enhance irradiation efficiency of gamma ray and gas spargers(2) are set at the bottom to distribute ozone into the vessel(1). The vessel(1) is closed by cover(8) to prevent any gas leakage.
