A control method for Non-ATM service connection in media gateway of ATM switching system

PURPOSE: A method for controlling non-ATM service connection at a media gateway is provided to integrate the operation of individual interworking modules into one standard connection control method by performing connection control at the media gateway in matching Non-ATM service in an ATM exchange, thereby reducing costs of system configuration and operation. CONSTITUTION: A management control part initializes interrupt of a processor and hardware of a media gateway Non-ATM multiplexing process block(301). An ATM/Non-ATM connection set table is initialized and a default transmitting and receiving channel is set for transmitting a start-notifying message to a Non-ATM main processor(302-304). Each hardware device of High-speed link part, a traffic/switch processor, and an ATM multiplexing process part within the Non-ATM multiplexing process block, is examined(305-310). If an error is generated in each device, the device is reset and the error is displayed, and a failure in initialization is reported to the NON-ATM main processor(313,314). If there is no error, a success in initialization is reported to the NON-ATM main processor for activation(311,312). Connection set-up and error process of each service of Non-ATM service processing blocks are performed through a high-speed link part of a Non-ATM multiplexing process block. Release set-up and examination of each service of Non-ATM service processing blocks are performed through a high-speed link part of a Non-ATM multiplexing process block.
