Hydrogen sulfide gas removal of the coke oven gas method

PURPOSE: A method for removing hydrogen sulfide from a hydrogen sulfide entrained gas using ammonia is provided which prevents the formation of scale by fixed-ammonia of a process stream-line. CONSTITUTION: A method for removing hydrogen sulfide contained in coke oven gas in iron making process using ammonia comprises the steps of adding caustic soda having a concentration of 0.8 to 1N and a pH of 11 to 13 at 70 to 80C to ammoniacal liquor to increase the concentration of free ammonia by converting fixed ammonia of the ammoniacal liquor to free ammonia and removing the hydrogen sulfide by reacting the free ammonia with the hydrogen sulfide. The method increase the rate of removal of hydrogen sulfide of coke oven gas by increasing the content of free ammonia of ammoniacal liquor.
