Articulate Slider Assembly for Directional Friction Pendulum Seismic Isolation Systems

PURPOSE: A joint type sliding assembly which is used in an earthquake-isolating device having directional friction pendulum is provided to maintain surfaces of a lower slider and an upper slider that are contacted with a friction channel of the earthquake-isolating device having directional friction pendulum, regardless of the position of a sliding assembly. CONSTITUTION: The sliding assembly adapted in the earthquake-isolating device having directional friction pendulum which is used for isolating a structure from a load of earthquake by movement of a friction pendulum, comprises an upper and a lower sliders consisting of a supporting block and a sliding ball made of a superior friction material. The slider ball can freely rotate regarding the supporting block so that the contact surface between the earthquake-isolating device having friction pendulum and the friction channel can be maintained in constant regardless of the position of the sliding assembly.
