PURPOSE: A method for confirming a sound source in a subscriber-based ringback tone service is provided to confirm the sound source of a subscriber or other subscriber without the occupation of an unnecessary trunk resource and a telephone call. CONSTITUTION: If the random first subscriber mobile terminal connects to an ARS(Automatic Response System)(55) through an origination MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(31)(S401), the ARS(55) performs an inquiry according to a predetermined scenario and the first subscriber answers to the inquiry through the key input of the first subscriber mobile terminal(S402). The ARS(55) acquires telephone number information of the second subscriber selectively inputted from the first subscriber mobile terminal and a telephone number of the first subscriber mobile terminal(S403). The ARS(55) inquires code information corresponding to telephone number information of the second subscriber to an IP server(70) on the basis of telephone number information of the second subscriber, and requests a corresponding sound source code(S404). The IP server(70) searches code information corresponding to the telephone number of the second subscribe from a database according to the request, and provides searched code information to the ARS(55)(S405). The ARS(55) searches a sound source corresponding to code information from the database, and transmits the searched sound source to the first subscriber mobile terminal through the origination MSC(31) for confirming the sound source of the second subscriber(S406). The ARS(55) judges whether the change of the sound source is requested from the first subscriber mobile terminal on the basis of the inquiry/response according the scenario(S407,S408). If the change of the sound source is requested, the ARS(55) requests the change of the sound source code to the IP server(70) on the basis of the first subscriber telephone number and the second subscriber telephone number(S409). The IP server(70) changes code information corresponding to the first subscriber telephone number to code information corresponding to the second subscriber telephone number, and stores changed code information(S410).
