PURPOSE: A method of managing addresses of a first-in-first-out(FIFO) memory for an inter process communication(IPC) is provided to detect errors generated while operating the FIFO memory by managing a write address and a read address as cell units, and to detect data errors caused by unstable operations of control signals or clocks while writing/reading the FIFO memory to prevent a system from being unrecoverable, by adding surplus bytes to each cell to detect the errors. CONSTITUTION: A method of managing addresses of a first-in-first-out(FIFO) memory for an inter process communication(IPC) comprises the steps of: allocating a write block address, a write byte address, a read block address, and a read byte address, and initializing the addresses; increasing values of the write byte address one by one, whenever byte data of cells is written in a block of the FIFO memory; counting writing operations of the byte data to confirm whether a cell synchronization signal is received, and writing a corresponding write operation counted value in a surplus byte; and increasing values of the write block address one by one, whenever the byte data is fully written in the block.
