Method for supervising selector of BTS/BSC of synchronous IMT-2000 system

PURPOSE: A method for monitoring the status of a selector in an IMT-2000 synchronous BTS/BSC is provided to judge the status of an STBA(Selector Transcoder Board Assembly) and the status of a vocoder through a polling response message for a polling message that an ASHB sends to the software block of the STBA periodically. CONSTITUTION: If a system is started, an STMB(Signaling Terminal Maintenance Board) starts to monitor the status/failure of a selector(ST11,ST12). The STMB transmits a self alive message to inform an ACP(Access Control Processor) that the STMB is being operated normally(ST13). The ACP transmits a status polling request message to an STBA(ST14). The STBA transmits a status polling response message to the ACP(ST15). The STBA stores the status/failure information of the vocoder in a database(ST16). In case that a data request is generated from the ACP(ST17), the STBA reports the status and failure of the vocoder to an operator(ST18).
