PURPOSE: An advertising system for a multimedia reproducing system and an advertisement position controlling method using a mouse in the multimedia reproducing system are provided to move a motion-picture advertisement or banner advertisement to attract a multimedia user's attention to maximize advertising effect. CONSTITUTION: Information about a motion-picture advertisement or banner advertisement is displayed on one of at least two search screens. When a mouse is located on the search screens, the position of the mouse is recognized(S609). It is judged whether or not the motion-picture advertisement or banner advertisement and the mouse are located on the same search screen(S614). When the motion-picture advertisement or banner advertisement and the mouse are located on the same search screen, the advertisement is moved to the other search screen after a lapse or predetermined time(S616,S618). When a user clicks the motion-picture advertisement or banner advertisement within a predetermined time(S620), the user is connected with the home page of the corresponding advertiser(S622).
