METHOD FOR INVESTING DIGITAL DEVICE CONTROL COMMAND RIGHT IN HOME NETWORK AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A method for investing a digital device control command right in a home network and an apparatus therefor are provided to smoothly invest a control command right to another client device when another client device wants to use a server device used by one client device. CONSTITUTION: A state storing unit(420) stores state information of a server device. An ID storing unit(440) stores an ID of the first client device which controls the server device. A packet decoder(400) decodes packet data, including a control command with respect to the server device, received from the first client device, and extracts the control command and the ID. The first processing unit(410) receives the extracted control command from the packet decoder(400), and reads state information of the server device from the state storing unit(420). If the state of the server device is in an idle state, the first processing unit(410) stores the ID of the first client device in the ID storing unit(440) and invests a control command right to the first client device. The second processing unit(430) receives the extracted control command from the packet decoder(400), and reads state information of the server device. If the state of the server is in a running state or a pausing state, the second processing unit(430) reads the ID from the ID storing unit(440) and compares the read ID with the ID of the first client device. If the read ID is identical to the ID of the first client device, the second processing unit(430) invests the control command right to the first client device. If the read ID is not identical to the ID of the first client device, the second processing unit(430) transmits a control right rejection message to the first client device.
