Auto-Recogniton method of the distribution network drawings in constructi ng the data-base at geographical information system

PURPOSE: A method for automatically recognizing a power distribution facility map is provided to obtain high recognizability and accuracy by recognizing a power distribution facility map via a computer and to save time and cost by simplifying data input work. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of recognizing a power distribution facility map as light and shade by scanning the power distribution map via a scanner, binary-coding the image of the power distribution facility information(1), generating the extracted power distribution facility information as a thin line image formed by a single point pixel(2), deciding if a reference pixel of the thin line image is a diverging point(3), extracting an electric pole candidate by checking the circularity of the pixel(4), recognizing an electric cable of the electric pole candidate by discriminating a solid line from a dotted line(5), and recognizing a candidate electric pole having an electric cable and a high circularity as an electric pole(6).
