FIELD: forecasting earthquakes by meteorological data. SUBSTANCE: ground weather chart and constant-pressure chart AT 850 hPa are constructed by meteorological data. Intensification of anticyclone is determined on ground weather chart. Its direction and traveling speed towards seismoactive region are established. Front boundary of anticyclone is found on ground weather chart. Frontal part of frontal zone of cold front is determined on constant-pressure chart AT 850 hPa. Zone of rise of baric-pressure gradient is specified on ground weather chart. Position and time of predicted earthquake are identified with predicted position and time of occurrence of zone of increased baric-pressure gradient in seismo-active region. Strength of predicted earthquake is found by nomogram computed on basis of observations of many years by value of speed of travel of boundary of cold front and atmospheric pressure in anticyclone. EFFECT: constant control over seismic situation. 2 dwg
