FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention describes method of direct preparing granulated alkaline metal cyanide from HCN-containing gas and aqueous solution or suspension of alkaline or earth-alkaline metal hydroxide. Interaction is carried out in reactor for spraying granulation in fluidized layer. Solution is sprayed to obtain seed charges of cyanide to be prepared and hydrogen cyanide-containing gas is fed to reactor simultaneously and water is evaporated using fluidizing gas. Steam is preferable as fluidizing gas. Reactive gases from BMA- and Andrussow-process can be subjected for abrupt cooling with water and gaseous mixture can be used as fluidizing gas. Using HCN-containing gas free of CO2 granulates of alkaline metal cyanides can be used exhibiting the excellent combination of properties, among them, with the total content of alkaline metal carbonate and alkaline metal formate less 0.4 wt.%. Invention ensures to reduce number of steps in preparing the granulated alkaline metal cyanide, reduce energy consumption, utilize HCN-containing gases of different origin and composition.
