METHOD FOR DETERMINING PASS BAND OF SPATIAL-FREQUENCY CHANNEL OF VISUAL SYSTEM

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves showing light flickers of given frequency to a testee. Then the initial, incremental or decremental frequencies are shown in turn with predefined exposure time. Difference in frequency is varied until the testee determines shown frequency discrimination threshold. The testee determines estimate value of the discrimination threshold for initial and incremental frequencies shown in turn at the first measurement stage. The testee determines the real discrimination threshold value for these frequencies by applying successive approximation method at the second stage. The testee determines discrimination threshold values for initial and decremental frequencies at the third and fourth stages like it has been the case at the first and second stages. Spatial-frequency channel pass band is determined as arithmetic mean value of frequency thresholds recorded at the second and the fourth measurement stages. EFFECT: simplified procedure for making measurements.
