FIELD: oil producing industry, particularly compositions for development of oil deposits by waterflooding; applicable in increase of oil recovery by shutoff of water inflows to oil wells, elimination of annular space crossflows and for variation of filtering characteristics of nonuniform formations. SUBSTANCE: dispersed gel-forming composition includes powdery filler of plant origin containing additionally 5-20 wt.% of pectin-containing plant raw material, alkali and water, with the following amounts of components, wt. %: said filler 1.0-3.0; alkali 1.5-3.0; the balance, water.
