FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: one should coagulate retina around the fragment observed. One should then dissect both retina and fragment- surrounding capsule. Foreign body together with retinal segment and capsule should be transvitreally removed with either the magnet or pincers. Edges of retinal defect should be coagulated. The present innovation enables to avoid traction impact upon retina and prevent yawning of retinal defect in postoperative period that decreases the risk for development of retinal detachment.
