FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed invention can be used in displacement-type pumps and compressors and internal combustion engines. Converter contains housing with mechanism to synchronize rotation in opposite directions at equal angular velocities playing the part of reduction gear and setting cranks into motion (when converting rotary motion into reciprocating motion), said cranks moving along bronze guide groove fastened on housing and deflecting the cranks by means of joints coupling pistons moving in cylinders, rods and cranks installed on coupled connecting, through system of bearings, including thrust and two radial bearings, the cranks with wheels of synchronizing mechanism made on shafts integral with wheels of levers setting cranks into motion. Levers are provided with spring shock absorbers to decrease shock load and they are designed so that maximum compression force of spring is equal to maximum compression force of working medium in cylinder. Use of device in mechanical engineering and in engines increases efficiency of drive owing to improvement of kinematics of converter member when converting rotary motion into reciprocating motion and back.
