After laying the sheets (1,2) grooves between adjoining edges of the rubber sheets and/or corners are filled with a newly extruded rubber strip (3). Independent claims are made for: (a) rubber coverings for plant in which adjoining rubber sheets have a groove for subsequent filling with an appropriately shaped extruded rubber strip; and (b) plant clad in rubber strip where the corners are filled with a rubber strip whose concave radius enables rubber sheet to be located on top without stress. Preferred Features: Adjacent rubber sheets (1,2) are placed against each other so that a U or V-shaped groove is created for the rubber strip (3). Adjacent strips may be set slightly set apart to form an I-shaped groove. Grooves are coated in an adhesive (4) before laying the rubber strip. Rubber sheets are positioned in the corners and are cut off at an angle facing the corner to form a groove for filling with extruded rubber strip. Alternatively an extruded rubber strip is positioned in the corner and part of it removed to form a hollow around which the sheet can be placed without stressing. The strip rubber is extruded with a hand extruder.
