Method for synchronizing a local to a central time base, and device for carrying out the method with preferred uses

According to the inventive method, time telegrams are transmitted from a central time base (tz) to a local time base (tm; tn). The instant when the time telegram is sent (y, z) is detected and entered into a following time telegram as a data value. The moment of reception of (u, v) of the time telegram is detected on a local time base and the instant when the time telegram is sent is reproduced. The difference between interrelated instants when the time telegram is sent and received enables time differentials (u-y, v-z) that occur to be determined and evaluated in order to perform synchronisation on a local time base.
