Riveting process and riveting device for riveting several workpieces made of different materials

The method uses a machine comprising top (3) and bottom tools (5) which move together in order to rivet (N) two workpieces (W1,W2) of different material together. The rivet shaft (Na)has a high strength and a fall-off pieces (W1a,W2a) come off both work pieces. A rivet dolly (7) impinges against a second rivet dolly (8) and the head of the rivet is formed on the second rivet. An Independent claim is included for machine to carry out the above method. The machine has many supports (2a-c), a control unit and handling units for guiding the workpieces.
