A system, especially a data information service system, has a first unit (1) with which information (D1-D4; M1) can be requested from a second unit (2). The respective requested information (M3) is characterized by a telephone directory number or by a section of a telephone directory number. The second unit (2) determines the respective requested information (M3) before a telephone call-link is completely established between the first and second units (1,2). Independent claims are given for the following: (A) A data communication terminal, especially a telephone. (B) A data processing installation, especially a central computer.
