The waterproofing in the form of a concrete floor slab in direct contact with the ground protects brickwork and components against capillary-dependent water present in the ground and conductable by capillary action and even against gravity force. The design presents an alternative to horizontal waterproofing on floor slabs described in DIN 18 195 part 4:2000-08.
