Cleaning air within enclosed room spaces involves trapping pollutants in porous wall and/or ceiling surface coatings, to be bonded irreversibly by reagents/adsorbents in coating material
To clean the ambient air within enclosed room spaces, the surfaces of the walls and/or ceilings have an inner coating as a porous plaster and/or porous paint to retain undesired air components. The wall coating contains one or more reagents which bond irreversibly with the trapped matte from the air. The interior air is therefore cleaned by adsorption and/or chemical bonding of pollutants trapped in the wall coatings. Preferred Features: The reagents are one or more of calcium hydroxide, calcium carbonate, amino acids e.g. casein or milk powder, additives e.g. sand or grains of limestone, hydrophobic agents e.g. zinc stearate or zinc oleate, air pore developers, or cellulose. The coating can contain adsorbents e.g. perlite, vermiculite, foam concrete or active carbon.
