The monitoring arrangement uses permanent magnetic materials or permanent magnets carried by the monitored persons for selective marking of the monitored persons. The magnetic markings can be integrated onto or in shoes. The magnetic fields of the markings are detected in passage areas by suitable magnetic field sensors.
