Red wine grape mashing tank comprises rising and falling mixing rotor on central spindle

A mashing tank for the preparation of red wine has a motor powered central spindle (3) with an alternately rising and falling esp. bush (8) to which radial mixer paddles (8) are secured. The spindle is fixed at top and bottom and the rotating paddles rise and fall through the mashed grapes. The spindle is supported by horizontal guide rods (6) whose tips are secured to vertical rails on the tank sidewall. The spindle is secured at its base by transverse fixed struts (4).
