Lifting mechanism for the snare band of a music drum

The invention relates to a lifting mechanism for the snare band (2) of a music drum (25), wherein one end of the snare band (2) is essentially fixed and the other end is connected to an adjustment mechanism (1) which is located between a contact position of the snare band (2 ) on the bottom (24) of the music drum and a position of the snare band released from the bottom of the music drum. In order to create a lifting mechanism with which a significantly wider spectrum of timbres can also be achieved in the course of a piece of music, the invention proposes that the adjusting mechanism (1) have a device (4, 20) which can be actuated by the foot or leg of a musician, through which the snare band (2) is essentially continuously adjustable between its two extreme positions.
