The clamping tongs for the friction coupling of a pipe cleaning machine have at least three coupling jaws (32) which are connected together through at least three flexible shape-stable spring rubber elements (34) made of rubber or rubber-like material. The rubber element has a hardness of preferably 35 Shore and adjoining jaws can be vulcanised onto a rubber element. The coupling jaw can be made from steel or hard plastics.
