The device consists of a centrifugal separator (4) and an air filter (6), supplied with combustion air from the separator center (5). The air filter is also charged with a carrier air flow (8), which contains coarser particles (9) to construct a filter cake (26). The carrier air flow is extracted from a particle-containing jacket flow (12) of a centrifugal separator (13), pref. a cyclone separator. A blower (7) is a cooling air blower of the IC engine (3).
