The carrier(6) has passages(7) which act as spinning nozzles for plastic injected through them into channels in a molding tool to form bristles(9). Passages have a minimum width of = 3mm over at least part of the length. The ratio of this width to the total flow path comprising the passage length plus channel length is = 1:5. Melt is injected from one or more sides (3) of the carrier. Independent claims are made for: (a) a molding tool with feed channel, a chamber for carrier location and bristle forming channels extending from the chamber; (b) a molding tool with a melt feed channel to allow molding of a carrier with passages; (c) a brush comprising a carrier with passages having previously claimed characteristics.
