Device for manufacturing and processing linear or spiral gearing of workpieces (4) comprises a fixed machine bed (2), a tool holder (6, 9) for a tool (12) in the form of a geared rotating body having a globoidal or hyperboloidal surface, and a workpiece table (3) for clamping the workpiece. The tool and the workpiece are rotated about different axes and the tool holder and the workpiece table are moved relative to each other in a linear direction along translation axes. The normal section base radius of the tool is greater than the normal section base radius of the gearing of the workpiece. The device is provided with rotation axes (R3, R1) for the tool and workpiece, a further rotation axis (R2) for angling the tool, and two translation axes (T1, T2) for linear displacement of the tool holder and workpiece table relative to each other.
