Safety device to reduce collision consequences between trains and other traffic on level crossings consists of two-axle engine-less tender coupled to front of engine
The safety tender is without its own drive and has two axles, and also has devices to protect pedestrians, cyclists, motor vehicle drivers, and to prevent frontal collisions between engines and other vehicles. It is coupled to the front of the engine in direction of travel. It is of stable fork-like construction, sloping forward, with a front a few centimeters above the track. This allows it to move under and lift, vehicles etc. on the track. The tender also has an aerodynamic body cover, to reduce injuries, and energy absorption devices between it and the engine.
