The drive unit for the flaps controlling throughflow of an air duct has a common actuator (9) for all the flaps and drives a gearwheel (16) which meshes with toothed segments (17,19) on the flaps. One flap (5) has a toothed segment which meshes with the gearwheel only over a part of the gearwheel's movement, and then comes out of engagement by means of a short tooth and is held via a lever (20) which engages in a curved track in the gearwheel.
