The candle holder for offertory candles (2) has a housing (1) which can be closed by a cover plate (10) and contains a larger number of safely spaced out chambers open at the front (12) with their bases serving as the stands (3) for the burning candles. The bases each transform upwards into an exhaust gas hood (4) and all these hoods are connected to the exhaust duct (6) which extends perpendicularly inside the housing to open at the top into a venting outlet (7) which runs through the outside wall (8) of the church.
