Vaporizer burner (10) comprises a vaporizer medium (34) for feeding fuel vapor into a combustion chamber (52), a first heating device consisting of at least one ignition heating element (70) protruding at least with its heating region into the combustion chamber to ignite the fuel vapor in the combustion chamber, and a second heating device consisting of at least one vaporizer heating element assigned to the vaporizer medium to influence its vaporizing characteristics. Independent claims are also included for a cleaning process for cleaning a burner, especially the above vaporizer burner, and for a process for monitoring the fuel feed into the above vaporizer burner. Preferred Features: The vaporizer heating element is arranged on a side of the vaporizer medium facing away from the combustion chamber.
