The cam drive for the valve gear of an internal combustion engine has a rotor wheel (15) connected to the control cam (11) and equipped with a channel (19) extending in spiral fashion against the direction of rotation of the rotor wheel from its circumferential edge (17) to the rotational axis (18). The channel is guided towards the cam track and opens out on the cam track. The rotor wheel is installed in a lubricant-enriched pump chamber (20). The rotor wheel is fixed on a bearing journal (14) on the control cam, and the channel leads to the cam track through the inside of the bearing journal and control cam.
