The plank system comprises two different types of slats which fit together in alternation, with one slat having two dovetailed grooves and the second slat having two dovetailed tongues. The slats with the tongues can be replaced by a plate. The dovetailed connection can be milled lengthwise and the dovetails can have different widths, thicknesses and angles. If the dovetails are not solid connecting wedges can be used.
