Method for individualization of an object (26) amongst a number of effectively identical objects, whereby in addition to a first identifying value such as a serial number of date-time stamp, an additional second identifying value is generated and applied to the object. The second value is an encrypted value such as a random number generated with a hache-algorithm. The combination of first and second identification values are stored in memory. An Independent claim is made for a device for individualization of an object by application of a combination of identifying values.
