The pulse width of a frequency generator is specified. Event signals are supplied which limit the pulse width of the laser when a set value (e.g. of temperature) is reached. An internal holding system is integrated to suppress additional pulses. The switching times of the electronic controller are less than 500 ns. Event signals are supplied in analog or digital form. Analog signals may be amplified using a universal transformer with isolation.
