Combined instrument display method for motor vehicle, by generating virtual instruments on screen in view of driver, and varying display based on operating parameters

The entire instrumentation in the motor vehicle is generated virtually using a screen. Combination instruments are represented on a common area of the screen. At least one of the virtual instruments may be generated so as to vary depending on driving or operating parameters. Safety-critical indications are temporarily emphasized or displayed without other indications. An Independent claim is also included for a software program product.
