Production of amino-functional organosilanes (I) by liquid-phase reaction of a halo-functional organosilane (II) with excess amine (III) at elevated temperature and pressure comprises distilling off (III), transferring the liquid phase to a crystallizer containing an organic or organosilicon liquid, distilling off residual (III) under reduced pressure and separating amine hydrohalide from (I). Production of amino-functional organosilanes of formula (I) by liquid-phase reaction of a halo-functional organosilane of formula (II) with excess amine of formula (III) at elevated temperature and pressure comprises distilling off (III), transferring the liquid phase to a crystallizer containing an organic or organosilicon liquid, distilling off residual (III) under reduced pressure and separating amine hydrohalide from (I). (I) R3R4N-(CH2)y-Si(OR1)3-nR2n (II) X-(CH2)y-Si(OR1)3-nR2n (III) HNR3R4 X = Cl, Br or I; R1, R2 = 1-8C alkyl or aryl; y = 2-4; n = 0-3; R3, R4 = H, 1-4C alkyl, aryl or aralkyl.
