The equipment for cleaning railway tracks is formed as a vehicle with suitably formed wheels (1) for track negotiation and at least one brush for track cleaning. The cleaning devices (8-12) incorproate at least one cross brush (10) rotatable around an axle crossways to the direction of travel (14). It also has at least one side and inner brushes (11,12) for cleaning a rail on both sides. In the direction of travel, are arranged firstly the inner and side brushes, then a first suction nozzle (8), followed by the cross brush and then a second suction nozzle. The suction nozzles have a width which exceeds the gauge of the vehicle wheels.
