Magnetic data track reading method for data card reader incorporates comparison of data sets from 2 spaced scanning points for detection and correction of errors

The reading method uses simultaneous scanning of the magnetic data track at 2 points via respective read heads (12,14), spaced apart in the movement direction of a magnetic strip card which is manually swiped through a data card reader, for providing corresponding data sets which are compared for detection and correction of reading errors. An Independent claim for a data card reader is also included.
