The device (10) is for holding a solar collector (12) and causing it to follow the path of the sun. It has only one axially freely movable and rotatable drive shaft (20) for horizontal and/or vertical movement of the collector to follow the sun position. At least one device with mechanical components converts the axial (A) and/or rotary movement (R) of the drive shaft into vertical (V) pivot movement and/or horizontal movement for East-West orientation of the solar collector. The drive shaft has a bearing (31) fixed to it for a slider (30) transmitting the axial movements, which forming a lower lever system (24) is articulatedly connected with a deflector lever (38), which for its part actgs with a spindle (46) on a lower stirrup (44).
