The stand has 2 or more segmental carrier arms (12,14) pivoted relative to a central mast (10) which is anchored in the ground about a horizontal axis, for tensioning the weather protection awning, with tensioning cables (42) extending along the length of the carrier arms and at least one coupling cable (38) extending between the free ends of the carrier arms. An Independent claim for a method for assembly of a sales and presentation stand with a weather protection awning is also included.
