The auxiliary heating device has a burner and a dished heat exchanger (10), having an inner dish (12) and an outer dish (14) between which a heat exchange liquid is fed. At least one strut (54) fiting between the inner dish and the outer dish is formed integral with the hollow cylindrical wall section (26) of one dish and pressed into contact with the hollow cylindrical wall section (48) of the other dish. An Independent claim for an automobile provided with an auxiliary heating device is also included.
