Absolute analogue electronic position signaler generates an electrical signal proportional to a rotational angle. The device comprises a rotating hollow cylinder (5) with a screw type sloping end the slope of which is used to determine its angular position. To detect the angular position a light emitter such as an infrared emitting LED is used. A phototransistor detects the light, the amount of light received being directly proportional to the rotation angle. The transistor delivers a corresponding output collector current.
