Method for verification of the software functions of a control unit with use of a simulation model for modeling the software functions and the control unit. The same simulation model is used for a first experimental control unit and for a second serial control unit that automatically generates software code for testing software functions, whereby identical input values can be used for the software functions for both control units. Comparison of the output values of both control units is used to verify software functioning. The invention also relates to a corresponding verification system and computer program.
